Description

I started in the Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee in Tyrol, Austria, in the half-Ironman distance. After an incredible race, I climbed to the second step of the podium in 4h13min28sec, once again behind my compatriot and teammate Julie Derron.

Feedback

The race setting was magical in the Austrian Tyrol. The weather conditions were cool with rain in the morning. I had a good swim, coming out of the water in first position. The bike course was quite technical and hilly with wet roads; caution was needed in the tight turns. I felt very comfortable and powerful during the two laps on the bike. I started the run in second position. I loved the running course with 4 laps around the lake. I immediately found my rhythm and was able to accelerate each lap. I gave it my all and enjoyed every moment; I felt great and completely in the zone. I achieved my best running time with 1h19min53sec for the 21 km. I crossed the finish line in second place, a magnificent performance! It was a great pleasure to share the podium again with my teammate Julie and to repeat our 1-2 finish from Rapperswil. My result proves that my second place at Rapperswil was not a fluke, by reproducing that excellent effort at Walchsee, topped off by an even faster run. It makes me happy to see my progress and consistency. It was a fantastic weekend for my Trisutto team, with Panagiotis Bitados also winning the men's race.

It was a fantastic race, where I could count on the support of my parents. It made me immensely happy to be able to share this wonderful day and performance with them. It is always a pleasure to participate in Challenge Family races, which offer great events for professional athletes, and a big thank you to Belinda, a former athlete of Brett Sutton, for her support and this opportunity.
