Description

What a wonderful opportunity to compete on Swiss soil, with the encouragement of my family and friends, with an 8th place finish in the PRO category.

Feedback

The fiel in the pro women's category was strong, with Daniela Ryf, who has 8 consecutive victories in this race, and Ashleigh Gentle, currently world number 1 in the PTO rankings.
I did not let my competitors scare me away. Right from the start of the swim, I took the lead and broke away from the rest of the group. I quickly widened the gap and swam the 1.9km solo in the lead. I felt very powerful and totally in my element. I came out of the water in 23:23 with a considerable lead of 56sec over Daniela and 58sec over Ashleigh, who came out second and third respectively. It was a fantastic feeling to come out of the water in the lead to the cheers of the Swiss public. I set the course record in swimming.

So I took the lead on the bike and led for the first few kilometers before being overtaken by Daniela and Ashleigh. The bike course climbed well, with two loops and a total of 1200m of positive elevation gain. I lost places on the second lap and arrived in 8th position in the second transition after 2:34:59 of cycling.

The running course was almost completely flat, with two 10.5 km laps and 56 steps through the old town. I was overtaken by a competitor after the first lap. Then, on the second lap, I was able to pick up the pace and fought hard to regain my place. I ran a good second 10km and was able to accelerate again for the last 5km. I ran a good second 10km and was able to accelerate again for the last 5km. I finished the race in 8th position with a time of 4:32:33. It was very hot during the race, but I kept well hydrated and cool throughout. I had a great time racing in Rapperswil on Sunday, with a fantastic crowd and the precious support of my coaches, my friends and family who came to support me on. I've made great progress in both swimming and running. Of course, I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm moving in the right direction. t's motivating me for the future.
